After much pondering and dithering and a little more pondering, I have decided to change up the store hours. What got me on this ponderous pondering path, you ask? Well, there really just isn’t enough time in the day for all the things my story-gremlin heart wants to do.
When I started freelance editing seven years ago, I had no idea how big a role it would play in my life (or my bank account. Do you know how much money I don’t make in this bookstore. It’s a lot. I don’t make a lot.) I have come to love editing much more than I ever expected. Though I am able to get a bit done while I’m in the shop, I’m finding the need for more uninterrupted editing hours.
I’m not reducing hours… okay, that’s a slight lie. I’ll be working one less hour a week so I can still run a Wednesday morning prompt writing group. What I’m doing is rearranging the hours I work so that I can have one day a week dedicated to editing from home. Except, it’s me, and I’ll probably edit all three days I’m at home, but it makes me happy so that’s okay.
The new store hours are:
- Wednesday 12 pm to 5 pm
- Thursday 11 am to 5 pm
- Friday 11 am to 5 pm
- Saturday 10 am to 5 pm
- Closed Sunday to Tuesday
Hopefully this new schedule will work for both myself and all my lovely customers.
